Pink Party Palooza

Jan 10th was small one’s third birthday and even though it was a crazy week and I had promised myself to keep things simple-I went a bit pink crazy.

Small one is addicted to pink.

She literally thinks that all pink in the world either belongs to her or at the very least-should.

With that in mind, I pulled her pink, ballerina party together between arriving home from our trip on the Monday and everyone arriving on Saturday.

Factor in: work, house, bills, laundry, first ballet classes…I think it turned out pretty well.

So I thought-why not share with all of you?

(especially if you are like me and not crafty and have almost no time to pull something pretty together)

I started with big flower poofs.

No.

Not an original idea and in fact, I got the instructions off of Martha Stewart’s site.

But they were fun, quick and inexpensive.

I put on on the door to set the tone of the party (yep, English teachers like to set tones).

The kitchen chandelier got the same treatment. Manna bday 3 080 I had this party idea for awhile so a couple of months back when I found this garland on clearance I was thrilled.

I try to pick things up when I see them.

The table got dressed with a pink bedsheet (just couldn’t find a pink tablecloth that I wanted and was still willing to pay the price for) and organza (we’ll use this for crafts in the next couple of months).

More poofs went on top of the dining room light and lots of treats went on the table.

I made flower garlands and hung them from the glass cupboards.

I got my husband to carefully unravel the flowers. My FIL thought it was pretty hilarious so I had him do one too.

The next couple of days I’ll show you all the treats and how to quickly get them together. Manna bday 3 063

I like to use pieces on my table that I already have or don’t mind keeping after a party.

So my sparkly cakestand, silver vase, vintage jars…all got put out.

Yep, those are sticks made out of candy (this bouquet is on the roster this week).

Yum.

Loot bags had sparkly jewels from the dollar store, candy bracelets and little paint pallets. Manna bday 3 066 Drinks were easy.

Pink, sparkly lemonade for the small set and pink champagne for the parents. Manna bday 3 071

Muffin cups and candy were brought into play for decorations.

As was the family birthday plate. Manna bday 3 072

The kids table was set-up with a princess puzzle and a craft (I’ll show you that this week too).  Manna bday 3 090

The cake is a fun three layer dealie with seven minute icing and a surprise inside.

I’ll show it to you tomorrow.

You see, all totally doable and you don’t even have to feel guilty about being a working mom (hate that term-all moms work, all the time).
