Tiramisu, the convenient version

I’ve made my love of tiramisu pretty obvious.  

I hope  you had a chance to try my Blackberry Tiramisu or have it on you ‘to make list’ soon.

BUT how about all that gorgeous tiramisu in a less messy version.

Tiramisu Cake.

This cake is so quick that we had it late one Wednesday night.

We’d wanted a sweet since dinner and held out for hours. 

Finally at 8:00 and a rummage in the cupboard, it was obvious that sliced apples were just not going to cut it.

It was likely partly due to the fact that ‘Mike and Molly’ were on and they also were uninterested in a plate of apples for a snack.

So we succumbed.

Cream together; 1 cup butter, 1 cup ricotta, 2 cups sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 2 eggs.

january 012 Divide the batter into two. january 013 Taste to make sure it is yummy (optional step unless you are 3). january 015 In one bowl add: 1 1/2 cup flour, 1 tsp baking powder and 1 cup milk.

In the other bowl add: 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup cocoa, 1 tsp baking powder, and 1 cup milk.

Place the vanilla cake batter on the bottom of a 9 inch springform pan. january 018 Sprinkle with 3 oz chunks of dark chocolate. january 020 Add the chocolate batter and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

Serve on top of a puddle of khalua and a good espresso. january 021

    I *looooooove* tiramisu but I have never in my life actually made it…but this makes me think that I definitely should! And I would totally do the “taste it to make sure it’s yummy” step. (c;
