I love vintage.
I’ll cuddle into vintage cashmere (like today when it is -38 with the windchill).
I wear my Gran’s fur regularly.
We just furnished our basement with mid-cent finds from kijji.
I live in a house from the ’50′s…you get the idea.
That’s why I love to pull out retro recipes.
I made this recipe up remembering some trips to my Dad’s favourite steak place as a kid.
You know the type of place (this one was called El Stavro’s-I kid you not and was/is located in a refurbished A&W drivethru); dark, smoke-filled, velvet seats…
How more f@# B&^%$@# food can you get than Iceberg Wedges with Blue Cheese dressing.
a lot of dressing…
Ok. Perhaps an excess of dressing.
Chunks of bacon.
You know , you think it’s a good idea.
Simply:
1) Cut a head of iceberg head into 6 wedges.
2) In a pouring jug mix; 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese, 1/2 cup mayonaise, 1/4 cup chopped parsley, 2 garlic cloves chopped, 1/2 tsp worstershire, dash hot sauce and enough milk to make the mixture pourable (about 3/4 cup).
3) Lovingly, pour over the lettuce (it’s still roughage, even when doused with fat)
4) Crunch a piece of crisp bacon over each and as much coarse black pepper as you like C:

This is my favorite salad. So good!
What I don’t get is that more restaurants aren’t offering it. I would have it EVERYTIME.
Yes please! Every day of the week! This looks so good.. and not just because of the bacon
And technically-you’re eating salad C:
