Valentines’ Week

Happy Almost Valentines’ Day.

I love this time of year.

Where I live we have been in the deepfreeze for months and Valentines’ is a welcome warm and a promise that spring is on its way.

It’s also an excuse to remind my husband that even in the hustle and bustle of everyday I still think he’s the Bee’s knees.

We used to go out and make a big deal about the day.  We made reservations at a favourite restaurant, got especially dressed up and…

were always quite disappointed.

Restaurants are always super crowded, the food is rushed and usually not as good.

With small one we now have a new family tradition.

Family Valentines’ Night.

A special dinner that we all can love without having to find a babysitter or deal with big crowds in busy restaurants.

The amazing Janel from Nellie Bellie has created the most beautiful tablescape and menu board to go with a meal that is easy to prepare (even on a weeknight) and won’t break the bank either.

Now that’s some bloggy love.

Have you seen how talented this girl is?

I haven’t seen her do it yet but she could definately make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.

Can you hardly stand how gorgeous the menu is?

Crumbs!

Take a look at this table.

Every detail is looked after from the cheery poms right down to the fortune cookies.

I had better do well with the food.

Isn’t it even prettier in the evening?

Don’t you especially love that everything is either an easy find or using things that you have already tucked away in the cupboard, just waiting for an exuse to use. valentine's day table

And now for the food.

Tomorrow pop by and I’ll show you how to make these tortellini skewers in a flash.

I can’t even count the amount of times that I’ve made these for parties and they are always the first thing gone. February2 030

Wednesday, I have one pan recipe for Calabrese Chicken, yep-all your favourite salad flavours in a main course. February 193

Vying for something particularly beautiful this Valentines’?

I guarantee that Thursday’s recipe for Maple Syrup pudding will ensure something sparkly will be waiting for you or at least everyone will be falling over themselves to do the dishes. February2 048 Signature-copy[1]
