Happy February and welcome to Celebrating Romance Month.
The end of the seemingly longest month of the year in our area. It’s always coldest and the light is pretty limited.
February is always a renewal of hope that the spring will be coming soon and we’ll have a chance for a holiday in March.
February is short but filled with a couple of birthdays and Valentine’s Day.
Oh Valentine’s Day. How many times have I seen couples spend the week (or so) after Valentine’s hardly speaking to one another. Not enough of a ‘big deal’ had been made. Not enough appreciation had been shown…
You know, life is busy.
I adore my husband.
He really is a kind person.
He really tries as both a partner and as a father.
He makes me VERY happy.
He is not good at grand gestures and quite honestly-they sort of freak him out.
So here’s what we do.
We try to appreciate each other everyday.
We do small things for each other when ever we can.
We don’t do grand gestures. We do little at Valentine’s.
That night I make a slightly more special dinner, DH comes home with a bottle of something bubbly and wonderful and we hangout as a family.
Sometimes I get flowers-sometimes I don’t and sometimes I get flowers for no reason what-so-ever.
So why am I devoting a whole month on my blog to romance?
Well, I’m devoting it to easy meals that nourish your body, give you a chance to sit around the dinner table and appreciate what you’ve got.
This month I’m offering pretty recipes but also three menus over three weeks that put together give you a great memory to file away.
I’ll post the menus on Saturday and the dishes will be offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays C:
I’ve got a fab Pinterest board ready for this month and some great folks that have been pinning to it.
Hope you are able to join me for a month full of Real life Romance.
Here’s a past recipe that we’ve loved and brighten any morning (or evening)-Chocolate Waffles.
