So yesterday I showed you those so very yummy cherry pickles and they are just a dream with cheeses and meats BUT they are so fab as a garnish in a cocktail.
Well, Friday is the night for a nice cocktail-isn’t it?
I had some gorgeous cherries a couple of weeks ago that I decided to cover in vodka and let sit in the basement with all my other pickled goodies.
What I ended up with was a rich, ruby, red vodka with a bright cherry taste to it.
Cocktail time for certain. Limoncello, lemon juice and gingerale made up the rest of this treat. And for the garnish? A bit of lemon juice and zest and one of my pickled cherries.
No fancy mixing, just, pour in the limoncello,
that gorgeous cherry vodka,
and a topper of gingerale.
- For one Cocktail:
- 1½ oz cherry vodka (3 cups cherries immersed in 3 cups vodka and left to sit for at least two weeks)
- ½ oz limoncello
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 4 oz gingerale
- lemon slice
- lemon peel
- pickled cherry
- In a glass filled with ice add all the ingredients, sit down and enjoy. You totally deserve it.
