Happy almost Valentine’s day and it’s time to spread a bit of Food Blogger Love thanks to the efforts of the amazing Allison Boyer from The Pinterest Kitchen.
I was lucky enough to be given Chews and Brews to stalk.
Cassandrea (that’s “Cass” + “Andrea”) is based in Alberta, Canada and she’s awesome. This gal loves to cook, travel and have a bevvie or two. My kindred spirit.
She’s got beautiful recipes for apps, mains, drinks…and I tried a few including the very best pull-apart bread EVER that she makes while camping.
She camps and eats fabulous food while doing so.
We were basically separated at birth.
On our epic summer trek from Ontario to B.C. this summer in our Lola I’ll definitely be waving at her.
And what did this wonderful lady do for me especially?
She inspired me to make a new cocktail.
Something simple but really fabulous so I tried a new version of a Lemon Drop.
What’s a Lemon Drop?
It’s a riff on a martini but brightened with lemon and I’m a sucker for lemon.
You’ll need; limoncello, fresh lemon juice, ginger syrup and vodka.
Give everything a great mix with lot of ice and put in a cute glass with a lemon twist and crushed ice.
- 1 oz vodka
- 1½ oz fresh lemon juice
- 1 oz limoncello
- ½ oz ginger syrup
- Mix all ingredients together in a cocktail shaker and serve over ice with a lemon peel twist.
